Contract Performance
Met or exceeded all TDMHMR Contract Performance Targets, including income targets, regarding the number of individuals served.

Mental Retardation Local Authority (MRLA) startup
Became an expansion site for MRLA, receiving 65 new MRLA Waiver slots. As part of that process, parent meetings and a provider fair were conducted to provide consumers/families information on the MRLA process and available providers.

Mental Retardation Local Authority web site
Updated MRLA web site to allow consumers/families, community providers, and Agency staff to explore the latest information regarding MRLA, such as MRLA reimbursement rates, frequently asked questions, enrollment procedures, and comprehensive listings of Harris County providers.

Mental Retardation services waiting list
Contacted 100% of persons on the waiting list for Mental Retardation services and updated information in the TDMHMR computerized information system.

Intermediate Care Facilities, Home and Community Based services
ICF-MR and HCS programs maintained certifications as mandated by TDMHMR with Westbury House, an ICF-MR facility, achieving 100% compliance from their annual recertification audit for the seventh year in a row. Westbury also joined Pasadena Cottages, Applewhite, and Donsky facilities in achieving 100% compliance in State inspections.

TEA approval of New Day Treatment Program
New Day Treatment Program received Texas Education Association (TEA) approval, which enables the program to contract with local school districts to provide services to dually diagnosed children. This program is now self-supporting through school contracts.

Quality Assurance and Improvement System reviews
The annual Quality Assurance and Improvement System (QAIS) assessment indicated an improvement from previous quarterly reviews. TDMHMR requested copies of MHMRA QAIS materials for use with other MHMR Programs around the State.

Transition newsletter for area school districts
Published the Transition Newsletter, which is distributed on a monthly basis to all Independent School Districts in Harris County, and other community members.

Monthly Houston Police Department training classes
Continued monthly training to Houston Police Department patrol officers on how to effectively work with and refer persons with mental disabilities.

Educational planning for multicultural conference
Development of the Education Track for the TDMHMR-MHMRA of Harris County MultiCultural Conference.
