Expanded Consumer Satisfaction Surveys
Continued and expanded consumer satisfaction surveys by including in-patient and outpatient units of the NeuroPsychiatric Center (NPC), Assertive Community Treatment teams, New Day Program, and the Consumer Benefits Office. Implemented bi-annual surveys of law enforcement satisfaction with the NPC.

Supported Rights Committee, Reviewed Proposed Studies
Continued to provide support for the Committee for Protection of Human Subjects, including review of proposed studies and liaison work with nine universities, agencies and companies.

Surveyed Transportation Needs
Assisted the MR division with a survey of transportation needs and issues for use at the Transportation Forum, and with organizing the ethnic minority and older MR consumer support groups.

Modeled Flow of Consumers in Adult Mental Health System
Modeled consumer flow into and out of the Adult Mental Health system in order to anticipate capacity exhaustion.

Developed Data on Impact of New Medications
Developed modeling alternatives regarding the financial impact of the new generation medications.

Analyzed Hospital Use
Conducted a series of hospital use analyses, including: paths from Harris County Jail to state facilities; demographics and referral sources for admission to state hospitals; comparison of HCPC vs. INSYST data sets; insurance status of hospital admissions; and trends in public hospital use from 1993 to 2000.

Conducted Case-Finding Analyses
Conducted case-finding analyses in order to: help set admission criteria for Adult Mental Health service coordination and identify cases to recruit, and automate the referral method and case identification methods for SSI application.

Identified, Mapped Consumers and Staff
Assisted service site planning by identifying and mapping current customers and staff and by providing information for the anticipated Northside Family Resource Center relocation.

Assisted CHIP Planning and Marketing
Assisted the planning and marketing for Children’s Health Insurance Program by identifying and estimating potential impact of CHIP program on agency caseload insurance status, and analyzing the potential impact of CHIP funding “swap.

”Furthered Study of Medicaid Policy Impact
Continued the Hogg Foundation-supported study of Medicaid policy impact through the assessment of effect of STAR/STAR PLUS programs on system and on individuals within system.

Analyzed Clinical Outcomes of Sample of Consumers
Analyzed multiple concurrent measures of clinical outcome over time for a sample of adult consumers who had been in treatment for at least two years. The results described the typical course of treatment response across symptom status, functional skill, and housing and vocational indicators.
