Adult Mental Health Services Medical Director Recruited

Recruited and filled the medical director position for the Adult Mental Health Services Division.

Mental Retardation Services Medical Director Hired

Recruited and filled the medical director position for the Mental Retardation Services Division.

Filled the New Position of Managed Care Services Medical Director
Created the new position of medical director of Managed Care Services and recruited and filled this position.

Recruited a Portion of Physician Staff for the NeuroPsychiatric Center

Recruited a portion of the physician staff for Emergency Services positions at the newly created NeuroPsychiatric Center (NPC).

Blended CAPES Program into NPC
Integrated CAPES (Children’s Assessment of Psychiatric Emergency Services) into the NeuroPsychiatric Center staff, serving a much greater than anticipated number of youths in crisis in Harris County.

Facilitated Rotation of UT, Baylor Psychiatric Residents
Continued to work with residency programs for UT and Baylor, with ongoing rotations from both schools into Adult Mental Health, Child & Adolescent Services and, most recently, Court Liaison Services. UT has continued to have resident and medical student rotations at the NeuroPsychiatric Center. Baylor will begin rotations at the NPC with their residents in the future.

Continuing Education Provided Through Conference
The Social Work Conference continued to be a major source of continuing education with CEU credits within MHMRA for Social Work/LPC professions. Provision of structured supervision requirements for Advanced Clinical Practice Status/Licensure of Professional Counselors for these disciplines is under development.
