Served
Exceeded the required monthly average consumer served targets
in all categories, which included: total consumers served, first
time offenders, and early intervention.
Contract Outcome Measures
Exceeded the state contract for outcome measures of service
indicators that address consumer improvement in the areas of:
re-arrest, school difficulties, improvement in behavior.
Assessments of Offenders
Realigned programs serving juvenile offenders to increase the
number of assessments conducted at the forensic unit and facilitate
placement for juveniles at home or in appropriate residential
settings.
Juvenile Justice Services
Developed a contract with the Harris County Juvenile Probation
Department enabling the increase of psychiatric services to
children entering the Juvenile Justice system.
Intensive Therapy, Case Management
Created a new level of treatment provision for youth and families.
This level of treatment provides intensive therapy and case
management services to youth who, due to the severity of their
condition, are in need of intensive services.
TRIAD Prevention Services
Re-assigned TRIAD prevention services staff to provide assistance
to the justice of the peace courts and to families referred
through the Chimney Rock Center. Youth served are no longer
required to meet MHMRA priority population requirements.
Record-keeping, Training
Began using updated automated systems thereby increasing the
capacity to serve a greater number of consumers with more diverse
funding/accounting requirements. Staff was trained on the new
patient and records management system.
Project with HISD
Organized to provide comprehensive mental health services to
children from birth to age six in the areas of the Houston Independent
School District that are served by Yates and Austin high schools.
MHMRA will receive special Safe Schools grant funding to hire
two preschool mental health specialists.
Long-range Community Planning
Initiated development, with the Harris County Community Management
Team, of a community blueprint for childrens mental health
services with representatives from both public and private agencies.
