The Coffeehouse provides services for adults diagnosed with Asperger's Disorder that include:
The goals of this program are:

Adults 18 years of age and older, residing in Harris County, with a diagnoses of Asperger's Disorder or Pervasive Developmental Disorder. Adults must posses the cognitive ability to participate in the program. Individuals must also meet the criteria for Target Population, and have challenging behaviors that otherwise restrict their level of functioning in community programs.

The first step in the application
process is to contact the consumer’s Service Coordinator and request a referral.
The referral must include a valid Determination of Mental Retardation and current
information regarding the consumer’s medical condition and behavioral issues.

Consumers provide their own transportation. Consumers with special needs for transportation should contact their Service Coordinators.

During the admission process, the Coffeehouse Team takes into consideration
the consumer's right to choose their treatment options.
We consider each consumer's preferences, likes and dislikes. Once choices are
agreed upon by the IDT and the consumer, they are documented on appropriate
forms.
