WHAT WE DO
The Network Development Unit coordinates the fiscal component of external provider contracts funded by General Revenue dollars for the Mental Retardation Division. The contracts are in the following areas:
The Transportation Services Unit manages MHMRA'S fleet of passengers vans. This unit also serves as the agent of record on vehicle registration, and routine maintenance of the fleet. The unit routinely completes an analysis on cost, usage, and care of a fleet of over 50 vans utilized by agency staff to transport consumers.
The Network Development Unit is responsible for the coordination of linkage with current and potential community providers for MHMRA. This includes, but is not limited to the identification of providers, drafting contractual agreements with potential providers and the negotiation of rates for payment. The unit is constantly seeking potential new providers for partnership with the agency.
WHO WE SERVE
Network Development Services serves children, adolescents, and adults currently receiving services through the Mental Retardation Division of MHMRA of Harris County.

HOW TO ACCESS THIS SERVICE
The first step in the application process is to contact the consumer’s Service Coordinator and request a referral. The referral must include a valid Determination of Mental Retardation. ABOUT TRANSPORTATION
Most consumers' provide their own transportation. Consumers with special needs for transportation should contact their Service Coordinators to find out if they are eligible for transportation services.
FEES YOU MAY HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS SERVICE
Individuals are assessed a fee based on ability to pay. This fee is determined at the time of intake.
