The Adult Skills Day Habilitation
(ASk) is a structured day habilitation program for adults. We assist our
consumers in developing the skills necessary to enhance their independence
and their quality of life in their communities. The Ask
Program offers the following services:
We serve adults, ages 18 and over, diagnosed with severe behavior problems and one or more of the following:
The first step in the application process is to contact the consumer’s MHMRA Service Coordinator and request a referral. The referral must include a valid Determination of Mental Retardation (DMR) and current information regarding the consumer’s medical condition and behavioral issues. If the consumer does not have a Service Coordinator visit this link to learn how to access MHMRA services.
Consumers provide their own transportation. Consumers with special needs for transportation should contact their Service Coordinators to find out if they are eligible for transportation assistance.
A financial assessment determines whether co-payments apply. External HCS, TxHmL and ICF-MR providers may contact the program directly regarding service fees. Consumers will need spending money for community outings for skills development.
Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8:30 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. Our goal is to provide an opportunity and atmosphere for our consumers to develop the skill necessary to be lifelong learners of functional living, communication, and social skills. |
